After the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami on 11 Mar, Japan Hour was pulled from its usual broadcast slots. Nobody would have been in the mood to see happy travellers commenting on onsens and ryori, especially when the Tohoku region has plenty of onsens tucked away on various areas.
About a month later, Japan Hour is back at its usual slots. Probably the episodes featuring Tohoku would be pulled. With the devastation the area has experienced, it could take a while for people to get back on their feet again, and for travellers to return.
