I felt that, having read Michelle Lyons' Death Row, Christopher Berry-Dee's Talking with Psychopaths and Savages was like an antithesis to Death Row. Whereas Lyons became increasingly sympathetic to the death row inmates, even excusing them as 'falling into bad company' and that they might have been decent people if brought up in the right environment, Berry-Dee however was of the opinion that, sure circumstances might have been negative, yet not everyone who has had a bad draw of luck became mass murderers and spree killers, despite the theories from psychologists on what triggered the mass murderers and spree killers.
Both books should be read one-after-another, for a more balanced perspective.
