Cobbler issue

Tried to find a cobbler to mend the heels of my Tracce heels, which had worn off.

One quoted a price which was twice the previous amount I paid for the same service!  And when I sought to bargain, he derisively quoted an even higher amount!  What cheek!

I didn't expect inflation to be so terrible.  Everything is getting so expensive nowadays.  Transport costs are forever raising despite being perpetually overcrowded.  Food costs are raising.  Now even the neighbourhood cobbler has raised his prices more than 100%.

Which sane person would paid one third the price of a pair of shoes to mend the heels?  I might as well have bought an entire new pair.
