Meatless Meatball Marinara [Too salty #1] [お弁当]

This Meatless Meatball Marinara is from the same company that offered Thai Street Grilled Chicken.

The cover of the boxed meal said there was golden pumpkin rice and roasted rainbow vegetables.

I'm not sure what the meatless meatballs are made of.  Gluten? Tofu?  I'm not much of a mock-meat person, so I'm quite puzzled by the range of mock-meats available.  Why would a person pick a mock-meat if real meat is available?  Or if the reason is due to dietary requirements, such as those of a vegetarian, wouldn't a meal consisting of just vegetables and tofu products be more natural?  I've tried mock-meats made of gluten and they are often rather heavily seasoned with artificial flavors that are thirst-inducing.

I wasn't able to taste pumpkin in the rice.  But then again, most agricultural products here are tasteless for me, mainly because these had to be harvested before they are ready to be harvested due to the long shipping and storage time for them to arrive here, and then artificially ripened.  I was so awed by the taste of just harvested carrots, spinach and fruits-in-season in countries which have agricultural sectors and products can be harvested only when they are ready to be harvested.

Like the Thai Street Grilled Chicken, this meatless meatball marinara is quite heavily seasoned, and thirst-inducing about 30mins after the meal.
