Park Royal Hotel THE Haneda [Japan]

Instead of rushing off to catch the Keiyu into Shinagawa, I decided to stay at Park Royal Hotel THE Haneda at the airport after and before my flights arriving and departing Haneda.  This would give me time to explore the airport, and it was certainly a good choice with the decorations for tanabata up.

Picked a hollywood twin at the standard floor and premium floor for the stays.

There was some construction at the hotel, so the entrance was a strange affair of the restaurant on the left and walls on the right.

The hollywood twin at the standard floor was rather smallish at 18m2, with two twin beds pushed together.  There was a squarish window looking out to traffic arriving at Haneda and some construction in the near distance.  The room had a humidifier which was thankfully already filled, so it could be used immediately.  The pillow had a normal portion and a beady portion (notice the rolled up portion?) which acts like a second pillow without a second pillow.

The bathroom was good-sized, with a tub and the toilet separated by a standalone sink, so that was plenty of space to change.  Toiletries were from mikimoto cosmetics, quite a few notches up from what is usually provided in normal Japanese chain hotels.

A nice feature was the basket beneath the sinks for used towels, which was a more elegant way for the housekeeping staff to collect used towels instead of guests strewing them on the floor or in the bathtub.  Another nice touch was toothbrushes of different colours!

The hollywood twin at the premium floor was of the same size as that at the standard floor.

Paying extra meant the following:

  1. a covering on the bed (which I do not need)
  2. better quality pyjamas and  (more) towels (thicker purple stuffs compared to the thinner white pyjamas and towels at standard floors)
  3. bath salts
  4. mikimoto cosmetics skincare kit
  5. UCC drip pods (I like!)
  6. buffet breakfast
  7. free coffee to go (I did not use this as there was already plenty of beverages in the room!)
  8. newpapers

All in all, it was a convenient option, something I would certainly come back to, especially with an early morning flight to catch.
