Wrong Train

The Shinkansen platform at Tokyo Station in the direction of Sendai had a very interesting sticker on the ground.

I suppose most passengers with a reserved seat would not face any problem, but imagine not paying extra for a reserved seat and not knowing that at a certain station, the cars of the train could separate in different directions - this would mean a trip to an unintended destination!
