The US Marine Corps showed-off their 5th generation F-35B Lighting IIs.
They are nice sleek fighters with stealth technology and capable of short take-off vertical landing. I guess that means they can take off and land on marine carriers, which would be a tremendous boost to any country patrolling waters far away from land.
Don't be fooled by the nice photo. I was actually standing really far away from the F-35B Lighting IIs.
The fighters were ringed off with a really wide berth and the US Marines were behind the barriers, reminding me of animals being fenced in.
Well I do understand that the US Marines would not want just anybody near their fighters, especially when there were many nationalities visiting the Singapore Airshow.
