Steamed Caramel Banana Cake, Banana Compote, Gula Melaka Ice-cream [スイーツ]

Desserts at the Candlenut are not given fanciful names, but listed down item by item.  So that diners will know exactly what they are expecting when they order, but still be surprised by the tastes.

Lighting at the Candlenut was turned down too low for a proper photo, and it was made worse as I dined there on a dark wet afternoon.

The Steamed Caramel Banana Cake and Banana Compote was okay for me, not being a huge fan of bananas or the artificially-flavoured banana cakes sold at neighbourhood bakeries.  The Banana Cake at the Candlenut was not overwhelmingly flavoured.

The Gula Melaka ice-cream was creamy with a very comfortable scent of Gula Melaka that made eating it very comfortable.  It did not have the in-your-face lemaky taste of Gula Melaka ice-cream in some creameries, and the scope was gone before I realised it.

I thought the dessert was a little pricey, but the Gula Melaka ice-cream more than made up for the price.
