Gyutan at Negishi [日本料理]


Although gyutan is more of a 东北 food, I ate my first gyutan meal in Tokyo, at one of Negishi's shop.

Having never tried gyutan before, I was a little apprehensive and instead of going all-out with a gyutan meal, picked the gyutan-cum-pork roast set instead.

Both the gyutan and pork roast were well marinated and unbeliveably tender, but my favourite of the set meal was the bowl of 大和芋 from 千葉県.  The grated yam was yummy poured over warm Rice and as a dip for the meats.  In fact, I think I could just eat rice with 大和芋 poured over it, without anything else!
