- Husavik in the North - great base for whale watching!
- Nupar in the South - should be awesome for aurora borealis watching, if it was raining heavily
- Reyholt in the West
One thing great about hotels in Iceland is the abundance of hot water, thanks to thermal energy. In fact, there is so much hot water that even bathroom floors are warmed with hot water pipes running beneath. This meant that there was none of the usual shivering when I stepped out of the shower of bathtub.
Beds in the Foss hotels were surprisingly narrow, so much so that I kept worrying if I would roll off the bed while asleep!
