Ostriches in Desaru

A newly-minted ostrich greeted visitors at the entrance of the farm!  I felt a little sorry that the little thing had to be gawked by curious city dwellers in a little glass tank instead of being fussed over by its mummy.

 

This ostrich is a rarity.  It looks like a male, but is actually a female.  And it doesn't lay eggs like the other females.  But, it understands the Malay that the ostrich keeper uses to tell it to turn around so that the curious city dwellers can see it all round without having to walk around it.
